On September 14, 2015 Advent Engineering Inc. (AEI) received a letter of congratulations from the Center for Veteran Enterprise (CVE), a unit of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), announcing the achievement of verification status as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOSB).
The CVE verification further establishes the integrity and credibility of AEI in the SDVOSB arena. Verification status now allows the company to pursue and enter into contracts with the Department of Veteran Affairs for services it offers. The VA is under presidential mandates to utilize veteran owned businesses for its contractual requirements. It is the only Federal agency which is able to issue contracts to SDVOSB on a sole source basis with no competing bids. AEI is included in the Veteran business database at www.VetBiz.gov.
To attain this status the company had to demonstrate that it was majority owned and controlled by a service disabled veteran. The CVE conducted a detailed twelve month investigation into the corporate structure of AEI and the background of the CEO. AEI’s CEO Michael Mahoney, a 100% disabled retired serviceman of the U.S. Coast Guard and majority owner of the company, enabled AEI to obtain the verification status.
